Hi everyone! My name is Lisa Spangler and I have the honor of teaching First Grade here at Werner! I have taught for 27 years in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade, as well as being a Literacy Interventionist here at Werner and I can tell you that First Grade is my absolute favorite! This is my 8th year working with 6 and 7 year olds. What a joy! Each day brings new excitement and wonder when you're a First Grader and it is an honor to be a part of that growth and change in your child. I look forward to working with you to help them become the best Werner Wildcat they can be - socially, emotionally and academically. Living in the neighborhood allows me to watch them grow outside of school as well! My family and I have lived in Fort Collins for 17 years. My husband, 2 dogs, 5 kids and 5 grandkids keep me full of love and energy! Our kids now live in the Denver/Metro area, Steamboat Springs, and Bozeman, Montana. This is such a precious time in life and I am so looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you this year! Please know my door is always open!
Our classroom is a lively place full of energy, curiosity, and adventure. We work hard and play hard, and the kids quickly learn how that works! Our program can not exist without you and I really need your help! You can volunteer to come in and work in the classroom, collate my Friday folders, or do projects for me at home! Perhaps helping at a class party or coming as a chaperone on a field trip suits you better. Whatever way you can help - I would love it! There are multiple opportunities that will be offered at our Back to School night. I'm looking forward to a great year with you!
