I am married and have 5 children. My husband, John, is an architect here in Fort Collins. All five children are grown up and on their own. (No grandchildren yet!) Three of my five children are Werner alumni, so I have been a proud Werner parent along with being a proud Werner teacher. I also attended Poudre Schools throughout my educational career...Bauder Elementary, Blevins Junior High, Rocky Mountain High School, and Colorado State University. I attended CSU in graphic design, graduating with a BA degree in Art Education. I then attended University of Northern Colorado earning a degree in Elementary Education. I went on to earn my Master's degree from Regis University as a Reading Specialist in 2013.
I began my teaching career in 1981 in Loveland teaching elementary art for 8 years before coming to Werner. I have been at Werner for 24 years, as both the art instructor, and moving over to third grade classroom 18 years ago. I love having my own little class, (as opposed to the whole student body), and I love working with this age child and their families. I will promise to do whatever it takes to bring your child as far as she or he can go academically, socially, and emotionally. All of these areas need to be addressed in addition to physical well-being when planning a curriculum for a student. I feel so fortunate to be a teacher at the best school in the world!
