Separate playgrounds for boys and girls, handing out milk at lunch time to the first graders, and nuns gliding in dark habits, are a few of my memories from St. Mary’s Elementary School in Greensburg, Indiana. After graduating from Greensburg Community High School, home of the Pirates, I went to Purdue University. My first teaching assignment was in Indiana as a media specialist. After marrying Mike, I moved to Rochester, NY where I taught seventh and eighth grade science and religion. In 1995 we moved to Fort Collins, and our children Katherine and Greg started first grade and Kindergarten at Werner. Volunteering at Werner kept me busy until I was hired as at Werner 22 years ago. When I am not teaching, I love to spend time gardening, reading, exercising, and spending time with my family. This year I am looking forward to our exciting fourth grade field trips!
