All About Me:

Hello! I am the ILS teacher at Werner, and I am so proud to be a part of this amazing community where each student's differences and interests are celebrated and encouraged. I grew up in San Diego Ca. and moved to Santa Barbara to complete my bachelors degree in Kinesiology at Westmont College. Shortly after graduating, I began teaching as a paraprofessional in a special education classroom, and realized that teaching was the route that I wanted to head down, and that I needed to head back to school. I received my Special Education credential from PLNU. Right after finishing my credential I moved out to Fort Collins, and began teaching in Greeley at a separate school in a special education class for high school students. After working at a school that did not facilitate integration in the general education classroom, I've realized just how important this is for each student's continued success, both academically and socially. I love how deeply this practice is embedded in the Werner community.  Since moving to Fort Collins I've fallen in love with all things Colorado, and some of my hobbies include spending time outside hiking/biking/running, practicing yoga, reading, and cooking fun new recipes!
